Sarries v Harlequins at the LS this Saturday
|
A mates son plays for a club in Orpington and the club got tickets. He invited me along and as I have never been to Rugby before I decided to go. Anyone else going and for those with experience what can I expect?

Loads of kicking, loads of scrums, load of collapsed scrums, loads of lineouts.
Generally very little happening.

I’m guessing TFL won’t treat them like something they trod in as they do us at Stratford Station.
The STOP GO paddles will be changed to RIDE ON OLD BOY and STEADY ON OLD CHAP.

It will depend on what Harlequin's team turns up to play.
It could be a good game

Harlequins do tend to turn up for this one; they have a long tradition of raising their game for this fixture, no matter how shite they've been playing. So you'll feel at home in more ways than one.
The game between them at 'Quins earlier in the season was a banger, Chris Robshaw might have ended up on the losing side but he played out of his skin. Hopefully you'll get more of the same.

Was going to say to look out for the chap in red corduroy trousers complaining that ‘some oik claims he is from Roquefort but he looks more of a cheese slices sort of cove’
But it seems Northern Sold isn’t going

You can expect a thoroughly enjoyable day out. 30 players (+ subs) going hammer and tongs for 80 minutes A total lack of play acting, flouncing and behaving like petulant children Total respect for the ref ( mostly) Watching with a pint in your hand A greater proportion of good looking women in the crowd
And it should be a good game As a Chiefs fan I'd like Carries to lose.....so cheer for the Quins please
And do come back and let us know what you thought of it

Good fucking luck with that.
Quins were traditionally the archetypal club where public schoolboy's fresh from being tapped up the arsehole went after graduating. They usually played behind a roped off pitch in front of two men and a dog, but enjoyed de-bagging each other for a jolly jape in the bar afterwards (see Public Schools).
Saracens aren't even a real fucking club, but more of a modern day franchise with no roots to community or loyalty to anyone bar their owners (see also London Wasps, or whatever they're called this week). Despite their recent successes based on their clear flouting of salary cap regulation, their fan base, if you can call it that, remains piss poor, reflecting their complete lack of history.
Me, bitter? Not a chance, Gloucester demolished Quins last time out, and both of these franchises would kill for a history, heritage and fan base on a par with us, and the other traditional rugby clubs such as Leicester, Northampton and Bristol...
If you've not been before, don't go and watch these wankers, choose a proper club and you'll love it. If you are going, mind you don't mix your popcorn and Pimms...
